Pretty Darn Good For The Money! I paid $12 and change back in 2000 at Wally World for a knife of similar dimensions that wasn’t as nice as this one (though still an excellent folding knife). I haven’t tested it out in the woods as a survival knife and I probably never will, but everything about it seems to be of good quality and I’m pretty sure that if used with God-given intelligence this could do the job in most survival situations where needed. No, I wouldn’t baton with it, but where I live, I’m surrounded by woods and it’s been my experience that there’s a ton of small usable dead wood on the forest floor and I suspect that this and a hand ax or folding saw of good quality would be a better survival combo than a larger fixed blade knife, with the hand ax being more practical in most situations. My suggestion, buy it if you need a good folder!
Very useful folding knife Awesome knife, had it for a couple years before I lost it through customs in Europe. Knife was very sharp from the package and blade maintained well with little need to sharpen it. Love the feel of the grip amd the slotted area for the pointer finger helps you maintain a solid grip. A bit biggger than a normal daily-carry knife, but a great tool to have. Only con was the holster/sheath it comes with. Knife fit a hair too tight for my personal taste, and it does not come with a clip (not sure if newer holsters have a clip). Holster only had canvas loops (very tight at that) on back for vertical and horizontal fit. Despite a mediocre holster, the knife was superb. If looking for a slightly small knife with same exact features, I recommend the Bear Grylls Scout model also made by Gerber.
