Awesome pack – definitely worth the money and I proved it the hard way I used my sister’s account to order this for a 2-week solo expedition in the Colorado high country that just ended. I used it over 80 miles of bowhunting and fishing between 10,500 and 13,000 feet in mid-late September 2015. It was not a frill item but something necessary for my survival and this review is based on use in extreme, extended circumstances. I’m a huge dude – 6’7″ and 270 lbs. and my base pack coming out of a food cache was around 96 lbs. So, the pack had to deal with daily, very heavy loads plus it had to deal with a guy that was big enough to manhandle it fully-loaded. I could tell the pins/straps would have given way if I had continued the fling-it-over-your-shoulder method of putting it on with those loads, so I had to start putting it on sitting down and standing up beneath it. The design is great and I really can’t ding it for anything. I wish they had used a waterproof material or included a pack cover. It has ZERO waterproof qualities. I’ve read the…

Tried and Tested Pack Review Excellent product for the price. I took this on a week long elk hunt (bow hunt) in Colorado last year. It held a week’s worth of gear/food without issue, and I didn’t have any durability or functionality problems with it. I did replace the rings that come with the product with pins so it would be more quiet, like everyone is suggesting. While the main pack can detach from the frame, I never used this feature as it would take some time to take all of the pins out. Because of that, I would not recommend using it as a day pack. I had a minimalist day pack stuffed inside of this that I would use when leaving camp each day.
